Christen Sundquist

As the Historic Preservation Planner for the City of Elgin, Christen oversees all historic preservation-related matters within Elgin's five historic districts and 21 landmarks in the northwestern Chicago suburb. This includes her roles as the staff liaison to the Elgin Heritage Commission and various subcommittees, including the Design Review subcommittee. 

Her responsibilities include facilitating the review and approval of Certificates of Appropriateness (COAs), the 50/50 and 75/25 Historic Architectural Rehabilitation Grant Programs, overseeing the Heritage Plaque Program, development of the Heritage Commission's Historic Elgin website and other programs and events for the Elgin Heritage Commission.
