Suzi Reinhold

Bio

Suzi Reinhold (she/her) is a licensed architect and the Founding Principal of Revive Architecture. She has over 20 years of experience in building envelope rehabilitation and historic preservation for a variety of façade types including terra cotta, limestone, concrete and brick masonry. She is also experienced in roof replacement, water infiltration investigations, window rehabilitation, and structural restoration. Notable projects include the Shedd Aquarium, Lincoln Park Zoo Lion House, Glessner House, Ludington Building, Givins Castle, West Pullman School and The Mark Twain.

Awards: Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Preservation Award (2020, 2021, 2022), Chicago Landmarks Preservation Excellence Award (2019, 2020)

Description

This studio and lecture course focuses on the restoration design of existing historic buildings (following the Secretary of the Interior's Guidelines) using historic photographs, working drawings, and descriptions; stylistic analysis; and similar building topologies. Historical structural systems, construction methods, and mechanical systems are also studied and researched. Restoration drawings are prepared to document the changes needed for restoration.
