Education: MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, DePaul University. Concurrent Positions: Child, Adolescent and Family therapist at Inside Family Counseling; Analyst-in-Formation and Member of the Freudian School of Quebec; Adjunct Faculty at DePaul University’s Counseling Program. Awards: George Mohur Award for the paper “A Case of Childhood Psychosis: The Emergence of the Subject." Presented Papers: “Adolescent Psychosis: Being a Puppet in One’s Own Body,” “Hannah: The Clinic of the Symptom,” “A Case of Questioning Identity." Exhibits: Aesthetics and Psychoanalysis Art Exhibit at Elmhurst Art Museum, 2021. 

Interested in questions related to the intersection between aesthetics, psychoanalysis, culture, sexuality, trauma and art.

Description

This course focuses on the expression of family dynamics through art in contemporary society. The definition of 'family' is explored from traditional, multicultural, single parent, and alternative parenting perspectives. A variety of theoretical approaches including narrative, feminist, strategic, structural, etc. will be presented. Experiential and video components complement theoretical learning.
