Personal Statement
Katherine Hubbard's work resides at the interplay between photography, performance, and writing. She uses this combination of elements to examine processes of image production. Exploring both the successes and failures of the camera to capture the world as it is experienced directly, she creates images that instead lead the viewer to consider the formal qualities of the medium of photography itself, interrogating its capacity to fix and commodify its subject.
