Personal Statement

As a first-generation Midwest Korean-American artist, I use everyday objects as charged signifiers. My paintings and installations explore relational, erotic, and mystical imagery, connecting body, space, and time. By referencing beauty, I shift perceptions of violence and alienation toward empathy, critiquing societal norms around gender, race, and identity.
