Six SAIC Community Members Named 2022 Guggenheim Fellows

The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation has announced the Guggenheim Fellows for 2022. School of the Art Institute of Chicago community members Associate Professor Maria Gaspar; Jessica J. Hutchins (Post-Bac 1997, MFA 1999); Angelo Madsen Minax (BFA 2005); Lorie Novak (MFA 1979); Guadalupe Rosales (MFA 2016); and Interim Dean of Faculty, Vice President of Academic Affairs, and Professor Shawn Michelle Smith are among the 180 writers, scholars, and artists awarded this fellowship. “The work supported by the Foundation will aid in our collective effort to better understand the new world we’re in, where we’ve come from, and where we’re going. It is an honor for the Foundation to help the Fellows carry out their visionary work,” shared President of the Guggenheim Foundation Edward Hirsch.
