The New York Times Lists Work by Faculty and Alums as Most Influential American Protest Art

The New York Times included pieces by SAIC community members Elizabeth Catlett (SAIC 1941), Leon Golub (BFA 1949, MFA 1950), Associate Professor LaToya Ruby Frazier, and Dread Scott (BFA 1989) on their list of the 25 most influential works of American protest art since World War II. The list was compiled by a small group of artists, curators, and writers, including Scott himself, who each nominated five to seven works and came together to discuss the nature of protest art and the many forms it takes.
