SAIC Sound Department faculty and alumni in The Chicago Sound Show.
Among the nine local artists in The Chicago Sound Show at the University of Chicago, five have direct ties to the SAIC Sound Department: Assistant Professor Lou Mallozzi (BFA 1978), faculty members Olivia Block and Walter Kitundu, former lecturer Katherine Young, and alum Andy Slater (BFA 2015). The Chicago Sound Show is a three-month exhibition of outdoor sound installations throughout the U of C campus, commissioned by the Smart Museum of Art and curated by Laura Steward and Sam Pluta. Open every day to the public, free of charge, through December 29.
In celebration of alum Georgia O’Keeffe: My New Yorks opening current SAIC students were invited to submit artworks inspired by O’keeffe and the city of Chicago.
