Kate Dumbleton Makes Newcity's "Music 45" List
Associate Professor of Arts Administration and Policy Kate Dumbleton (MA 2008) was included on Newcity's annual "Music 45" list. Recognized for her work as executive director of the Hyde Park Jazz Festival, Dumbleton was also applauded for launching Back Alley Jazz in South Shore last year. Dumbleton describes the event as, "a reimagining of the sixties and seventies informal jazz jams neighborhoods on the South Side had in the alleyways. It was amazing!" This year's list was devoted to the folks behind-the-scene including club owners, label executives, radio hosts, artists’ reps and more.
In celebration of alum Georgia O’Keeffe: My New Yorks opening current SAIC students were invited to submit artworks inspired by O’keeffe and the city of Chicago.
