Darryl DeAngelo Terrell Named Kresge Artist Fellow

Darryl DeAngelo Terrell (MFA 2017) was named a Kresge Artist Fellow by Kresge Arts in Detroit. Funded by the Kresge Foundation, Kresge Artist Fellowships are administered by the Kresge Arts in Detroit office of the College for Creative Studies. Terrell is one of 18 Detroit metro artists who will receive a $25,000 “no strings attached” award and a year of professional practice support. The fellows will also be featured in Kresge Arts in Detroit’s film series, which documents the work and perspectives of the 180 fellows who received awards in the program’s first decade, as well as all of the Kresge Eminent Artists to date. Terrell's work explores the displacement of Black and Brown people, femme identity, strength, the Black family structure, sexuality, gender, and safe spaces.
