CAPX Hosts SAIC's First Good Energy Hackathon

On December 8, Career and Professional Experience (CAPX) hosted its first SAIC Good Energy Hackathon. In six hours, students generated 13 proposals aimed at creating change in Chicago communities and capturing the spirit of “Good Energy.”

Four students were chosen to continue to develop and execute their ideas this spring and summer. Until then they will receive mentorship to make connections, set a timeline, define a budget, and build a creative canvas. Congratulations to this year’s winners: Laetitia August (BFA 2019) for her project Launch: Restructuring the Curriculum, Kush (Safiya) James (BFA 2018) for her project Truck Art Meets Little Free Library, Urooj Shakeel (MA 2019) for her project Neighborhood Arts Festival Supporting Creation fo a Community Center, and Carrie Wright (MDes 2019) Agency: A Workshop Series at CCA Academy.
