Newcity Features SAIC Community in New Designed Objects Issue
Newcity recently released its "Designed Objects Issue," which culminates all the best in Midwestern-modernist design and the designers making waves in the industry with their technological and futuristic objects. Of the designers selected to be in the issue, SAIC alum Sung Jang (BFA 2000) along with Associate Professor in the Department of Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Designed Objects (AIADO) Tim Parsons and AIADO lecturer Jessica Charlesworth were featured. All three were interviewed about a particular object they had created, how they determine the success of this object, and why they find it important to design in Chicago. In celebration of alum Georgia O’Keeffe: My New Yorks opening current SAIC students were invited to submit artworks inspired by O’keeffe and the city of Chicago.
