SAIC Demonstrates Curatorial Influence

When Artnet asked Who Are the Most Influential Curators of the Last Century?, the School's influence could not be avoided. Professor Mary Jane Jacob, the Executive Director of Exhibitions and Exhibition Studies and the Director of the Institute for Curatorial Research, was mentioned twice for her contributions to curatorial work: first, by the co-artistic director of FRONT International and then by the executive director of the Fabric Workshop and Museum who both acknowledged Jacobs' landmark work in advancing social practice. Of the 19 tastemakers Artnet approached for their opinions, New Arts Journalism and Art History, Theory, and Criticism faculty member Lori Waxman and Painting and Drawing professor Michelle Grabner weighed in.
