New Media Installation Unveiled at North Riverside Tower

Two SAIC alumni are part of the new media installation project being unveiled at 150 North Riverside, Visual Communication Design alum Yuge Zhou (MFA 2015) and Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Designed Objects alum Jason Salavon (MFA 1997).  Zhou, who is curating the project is Creative Director at Riverside Investment & Development, the building’s developer, which commissioned 150 Media Stream. Salavon will be the first artist to be featured on 150 Media Stream, which is made of 89 LED blades and will function as a base for commissioned artists to build from. At 22-feet tall and 150-feet long, this will be one of the largest site-specific installations new-media artist Salavon has ever done.

“The opportunity to explore these aspects of this project was intriguing,” Salavon explained to the Architect’s Newspaper. “There is no other video wall in the world that looks like this one.”

150 North Riverside Tower’s lobby, which houses 150 Media Stream, will open to the public Friday, April 21, 2017, at 6:00 p.m.
