Rirkrit Tiravanija Discusses New Exhibit with Designboom

Rirkrit Tiravanija (MFA 1986) was recently interviewed by Designboom about his participation in a collaborative and experimental exhibit, Exquisite Trust (Blindly Collective Collaborations). The exhibit is taking place at the Singapore Tyler Print Institute in Singapore and features the collaborative efforts of four world-renowned artists, including Tiravanija. The artists collaborated in cadavre exquis (exquisite corpse), a surrealist technique where a single work is passed throughout the group to be added to without the other collaborators knowing the intentions of the artist before or after them. Tiravanija said of the experience, "In a way, we’re...trying to surprise ourselves, so it’s not like we’re going to do everything that we normally do anyway.
