Alumni Operate Berlin Artist-Run Gallery

Artsy recently caught up with Carrick Bell (MFA 2008) and Michael Rocco Ruglio-Misurell (MFA 2008) in regards to their artist-run gallery, HORSEANDPONY Fine Arts. The gallery, which the duo found dilapidated, is now a staple in the thriving Berlin arts scene and hosts many influential curators and artists. The two artists also have studios in the gallery and continue their own practices.

Bell and Ruglio-Misurell say that the success of their gallery comes from, “Exposing ourselves to work we and our audiences haven’t seen or spent time with, providing the space for artists to experiment and create new work with no pressure or expectation, and curating exhibitions that draw on different audiences and communities.” Read more about the alumni at Artsy
