Cheryl Pope Exhibition Featured in NewCity
Champion boxer, visual artist, and Assistant Professor at SAIC, Cheryl Pope (MFA 2010) continues to make headlines through her arts activism focused on social issues. Her recent show at Monique Meloche Gallery Watch Your Step focused on healing in a multimedia exhibition of sculpture, video, photography, and performance and was featured in a review in NewCity, describing the as a “powerful meditation that curiously circumvents silence.”
In celebration of alum Georgia O’Keeffe: My New Yorks opening current SAIC students were invited to submit artworks inspired by O’keeffe and the city of Chicago.
