SAIC Participates in Hyde Park Art Center’s 75th Anniversary Celebrations

The Hyde Park Art Center (HPAC) celebrates its 75th birthday this year with the exhibit The Chicago Effect: Redefining the Middle. Speaking with the Chicago Reader, Co-curator Mehga Ralapati explained that the exhibit is "not specific to Chicago, but it's a mode of working and practicing, of sharing resources and tools that characterizes the way artists work in Chicago." HPAC partnered with art and design schools—among them the School of the Art Institute of Chicago—to construct the exhibit, design the catalog, and conduct various experiments. The exhibit runs from August 24–November 23 at the Hyde Park Art Center.
