SAIC Faculty and Alum Involved with Cannonball’s R.A.D in Miami

Miami's art scene is thriving, but many are of the opinion that it lacks that something needed to turn it into a cultural center. Trying to fill this gap is Cannonball, a downtown Miami art center with a new alternative school, R.A.D. (Research, Art, Dialogue), reports the Miami Herald. Part of the philosophy behind R.A.D., "is to go beyond traditional lectures to find teachers who will stage projects, conversations or participatory experiences." says Cannonball's Executive Director and SAIC alum Chris Cook (MA 2002). R.A.D., which will offer low cost classes through fall 2014 and spring 2015, has David Raskin, SAIC faculty and Chair of Sculpture, as a member of the Advisory Board.
