SAIC Students Recognized with Prestigious CFDA Design Scholarships

SAIC Fashion Design students Heather Rhee (BFA 2016) and Noe Loewald Hu (BFA 2016) have been announced as the winners of esteemed scholarship awards as part of the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s (CFDA) Educational Initiatives. Rhee has been awarded the $25,000 Geoffrey Beene Design Scholarship Award and the $5,000 Geoffrey Beene Scholarship for Excellence in Technical Design, and Hu has been recognized with the $25,000 Liz Claiborne Design Scholarship Award. Each award is based solely on merit, as judged by a prestigious panel of industry experts.

As the 2015 Geoffrey Beene Design Scholar and the 2015 Liz Claiborne Scholarship Winner, Rhee and Hu will be invited to attend the CFDA Fashion Awards in New York as guests of the CFDA, to be held on June 1, 2015.
