SAIC Alum Designs Miley Cyrus’s VMA Performance Costumes

Brad Callahan (BFA 2009), under his label BCalla (link NSFW), designed costumes for Miley Cyrus and her fellow performers—31 famous drag queens from the TV show RuPaul’s Drag Race—for the MTV Video Music Awards. Nylon interviewed Callahan about the designs, which are all unique and custom-made. The series features 3D elements, bright colors, rhinestones, vinyl, and more. Cyrus’s stylist, Simone Harouche, sought out Callahan, who has also designed for Lady Gaga and Azealia Banks.
