SAIC President Walter E. Massey to Receive 2016 Public Humanities Award

Dr. Walter E. Massey, President of SAIC, will be awarded the 2016 Public Humanities Award at its annual benefit luncheon on May 19 at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago. The award is given annually by Illinois Humanities since 1984 to “recognize individuals and organizations that have helped transform lives and have strengthened communities through the humanities.” President Massey’s continual effort to increase access to develop young creative minds and strengthen ties between the humanities and the sciences throughout his career as a scientist and an educator distinguished him to receive the honor.
