Statement by President Massey and Provost Tenny on Orlando Shootings
The news of yesterday’s shooting has left us overcome with grief. Our thoughts are first and foremost with the victims; with their families; with the city of Orlando, Florida; and with the nation’s LGBTQ community. As we struggle to understand this individual’s horrific and hateful actions, we ask that you keep in mind the spirit of mutual respect and love for humanity that is their opposite. Creative communities such as ours have the power to inspire and to unite. Let that be our mission in our practices and lives going forward.
