Crave Profiles SAIC Alum Ben Skinner

Crave, an online publication for men, recently profiled SAIC alum Ben Skinner (MFA 2003). Originally from Canada, Skinner moved to Chicago for graduate school.

Of his time at SAIC, Erica Rivera of Crave writes that it was during this time when "Skinner began experimenting with words in his art; public text interventions in Chicago proved inexpensive, quick, ephemeral, and allowed viewers to interact with his art beyond gallery walls.”

Skinner’s work often incorporates text “with wit, snark, and the occasional apologetic inflection.” This has lead to a successful career creating window displays for clothing companies; Skinner now designs the window displays for over sixty North American stores, from Urban Outfitters to Aritzia.
