SAIC Grad Students Receive Award From the International Sculpture Center

Gary LaPointe (MFA 2016) and April Martin (MFA 2016), graduate students from SAIC’s esteemed sculpture community, recently received the 2016 Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award from the International Sculpture Center (ISC). Judges deliberated over an unprecedented 959 pieces of sculptural work coming from 148 schools of art and design. LaPointe and Martin are among the 16 winners who will participate in the ISC’s Grounds For Sculpture exhibition, and their work will appear in the October 2016 issue of Sculpture magazine.
