WBEZ Showcases South Asian Exhibition Featuring SAIC Community Members
Highlighted by WBEZ Chicago, What is Seen and Unseen emphasizes the vital contributions of South Asian artists to the city’s cultural landscape. Curated by South Asian artist Shelly Bahl, this exhibition features contributions from School of the Art Institute of Chicago alumni and faculty, including Udita Upadhyaya (MFA 2016) and Sabba S. Elahi (MFA 2006), as well as Professor Shaurya Kumar. The exhibition consists of two sister showcases: Shadows Dance Within the Archives, exploring 125 years of under-documented South Asian cultural history, and Are Shadow Bodies Electric?, which presents surreal works by eight contemporary artists.
