Vicki Birenberg

Vicki Birenberg (SAIC ’09) serves as the planning and research coordinator at the Kentucky Heritage Council, and coordinates the Certified Local Government program. She works with communities around the state who are interested in setting up local preservation programs, including the development of preservation plans, ordinances, and design review. For those that meet the federal and state standards to become Certified, Vicki provides support, technical assistance, and administers the CLG grant program that is funded with federal Historic Preservation Fund dollars. Wearing many hats, Vicki is also responsible for gathering stakeholder input and developing Kentucky’s State Historic Preservation Plan.
