Professor Eduardo Kac Featured in Electric Dreams at Tate Modern

School of the Art Institute of Chicago Professor Eduardo Kac’s innovative work Tesão (1985) will be on display in the exhibition Electric Dreams at Tate Modern. This groundbreaking exhibition explores how artists harnessed machines and algorithms to redefine art from the 1950s to the 1990s. Kac's piece uses a Minitel messaging system to create vibrant, looped text and images that blend abstraction with a provocative hidden message. Showcasing pioneers of optical, kinetic, and digital art, this exhibition immerses viewers in sensory experiences that shaped the visual language of the future.

Kac also was recently awarded an honorary doctorate from the Royal College of Art, London.
