Alum Patricia Michaels (SAIC 1991–93) recently spoke with Hyperallergic about her design company PM Waterlily’s collection for this year’s Southwestern Association for Indian Arts Santa Fe Indian Market fashion show. The Santa Fe Indian Market has been a venue for Indigenous artists to show and sell their work for more than a century, and Michaels has been an integral part of the event for more than 30 years. “It definitely is exciting,” Michaels shared. “The honor of being able to be at the Indian Market–it’s such an important centennial [and] time in history that I feel a responsibility to heighten my expression.”
