Nick Cave Shortlisted as One of the Most Creative People in Business in 2023

Acclaimed artist and School of the Art Institute of Chicago’s Stephanie and Bill Sick Professor of Fashion, Body and Garment Nick Cave continues to push the boundaries of textile production. The artist’s creative collaboration with Knoll, a renowned textile manufacturer, earned him a spot among the most creative people in business for 2023 according to Fast Company.

Famous for his eclectic approach, combining materials, textures, and colors, Cave developed experimental manufacturing techniques which allow unique imperfections in mass-produced textiles. Cave’s collaboration with Knoll resulted in the launch of a collection consisting of three draperies, three wall coverings, and four upholstery fabrics of high technical complexity. The artist aims to make the collection accessible and invites anyone to engage and play with his innovative textiles.
