Alum Chris Csíkszentmihályi (BFA 1994) recounted the stories of his amazing career trajectory at SAIC’s New Student Orientation this past summer. Starting with his work in film as an undergraduate student and working toward his creation of the Media Design Matters program at Art Center College of Design in California, his multimedia, personal timeline prepared and inspired new students how to navigate the years ahead of them.

While in his presentation he admitted that he had “no clue” his freshman year what he was going to do with the rest of his life, he highlighted the tacit knowledge he gained while at SAIC that became a guide throughout his career in new media. “Those incredible moments with the faculty still come back to me, and I still find new ways of realizing and applying the knowledge I got as an undergrad here,” he says.
