F Newsmagazine Sweeps Illinois College Press Association Awards
School of the Art Institute of Chicago’s (SAIC) student newspaper F Newsmagazine received the Illinois College Press Association Sweepstakes Award for the most awards won at the 2024 conference. F’s team won 35 awards, topping their record of 24 from last year’s conference.
The Illinois College Press Association Awards are held annually. School newspapers submit their best work to specified categories such as Feature Story and In-Depth Reporting. For each category, first, second, and third place, as well as honorable mentions are chosen by a group of journalism professionals working across the United States.
F’s first place awards include General Excellence (Web), Front Page Layout, Column for Sisel Gelman’s “Slut Saga,” Feature Page Design for Shijing Li’s “Mars Argo’s Return of Music,” and Multimedia Reporting for Teddie Bernard’s “Life After Art School.”
