Emily Wallrath Schmidt (SAIC ’12) joined the National Main Street Center (NMSC) in 2015 as the Associate Manager of Communications. The NMSC is a subsidiary of the National Trust Historic Preservation, dedicated to helping communities revitalize their historic downtowns and neighborhood commercial districts with historic preservation-based strategies. Emily’s responsibilities include managing social media (Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram), maintaining the website, marketing the annual conference, and planning/preparing NMSC’s news publication Main Street Weekly. Before that, Emily worked in North Carolina as a Historic Preservation Consultant specializing in historic rehabilitation tax credit applications, certificate of appropriateness preparation, and historic research.
