Chicago Reader Highlights Alum Vani Aguilar’s First Solo Exhibition

School of the Art Institute of Chicago alum Vani Aguilar’s (BFA 2020) first solo exhibition, Blinked Twice, was recently showcased in the Chicago Reader. Aguilar’s exhibition creates a space for visitors to reflect, contemplate, and connect with others. From paintings and illustrations depicting the relationship between communities in marginalized neighborhoods, to installations of plastic chairs circled together to create a social space for visitors, Aguilar constantly hones in on the importance of community within society.
