The city of Chicago is the true classroom of SAIC’s Historic Preservation program, where students learn real-world lessons in how to protect, preserve, and promote a diverse range of buildings, sites, and landscapes. The city’s unparalleled heritage includes some of the world’s undisputed architectural masterpieces.
Chicago is a living laboratory where students are exposed to visible layers of our shared architectural experience and confronted with the challenges and triumphs of preserving those layers for our collective memory.
