The American Institute of Architects: "Solving Civic Issues Locally for National Change"
Recently, the American Institute of Architects' Blueprint for Better campaign and the Chicago Ideas Festival collaborated with two design-based workshops. During the first workshop, groups of Chicago Public School students from throughout the city were paired with Chicago architect coaches, including AIADO faculty members like Linda Keane (pictured above), and each group imagined, designed, and constructed a model for a safe school. During the second workshop, groups of adults lead by local and visiting architects participated in activities and exercises based on design thinking that creates solutions to social and experiential challenges within the built environment.
