May 2024: Faculty and Staff Accomplishments

Associate Professor, Adj. Annette Elliot’s film The Museum premiered at the Oscar-qualifying Atlanta Film Festival.

Professor, Adj. William Harper’s animation, Swwart Wovlve Wolve, will be featured at the Photometria International Photography Festival in Ioannina, Greece in fall 2024. Swwart Wovlve Wolve also won Best Animation Award at the Dublin Movie Awards.

Lecturer Mark Krisco is one of three people chosen to decide the recipients of the Visual-based Arts Advisory Committee for the Illinois Arts Council 2024 Artist Fellowship program.

Professor Mechtild Widrich took part in the Public Art Inside Out Symposium, organized by the Getty Center and MUDEC Milan, with the presentation “Lueger’s Tilt: Recontextualization and Politics in Vienna.” In addition, she gave a presentation as part of the Vienna 1900 Symposium at the Austrian Cultural Forum in New York, contributed an essay on Romanian artist Ana Lupas' expansive project East for the exhibition catalog at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, and contributed an essay for the exhibition catalog for Dan Flavin.
